Back in the Saddle

I am back in the saddle today. It took me awhile, but I am on the ball. I have cleaned the house (mostly) I have made a meal plan for the next 2 weeks, and let me tell you we will be eating good this week. I am also baking a ton, cause that's what I do.
I also bought paint to paint our bedroom, finally. It took a long time to finally make a decision, but we finally did. Now I have to actually paint, which is a challenge with 2 little ones. I will have to wait until Patrick is home so that there is someone to keep them out of the paint.
I will post pics soon of the completion, and also of Reagan's party

January

Holy cow, I am very glad that January is almost over, it has been rough. Lets start with the first week, both of the girls got pneumonia and double ear infections. It was a miserable time at our house. When they recovered, and started sleeping again, my grandmother died. It was sad, but we all know that she is in a much better place, and she had not been well for a very long time. In fact, she had not gotten out of bed since September. She lived here, so my whole family was in town. It was nice to see them, but it was very hectic and tiring. Everyone (including me and Patrick) ended up getting sick. My sister and her baby, My whole family, and my dad and his wife, all ended up with a cold from hell. I have not been sick in a long time and this one knocked me on my ass!! I am just starting to feel human again today. Also during all this we had Reagan's birthday party (which was a raging success and I will post all the info about that soon)
I am glad that January is almost over and here's to hoping that February is better and much healthier!!

Reagan is 4!!!

Today is my sweet Reagan's 4th Birthday!! I can hardly believe it has been 4 years. Sometimes I can't believe she has been with us that long, and other times, I can't remember what life was like before her. She has turned into a sweet (most of the time) independent, beautiful girl that surprises me everyday.
We are having a princess party for her on Saturday and she is super excited. I am cutting and pasting and baking all kinds of stuff in preparation. I will post pictures of the festivities.

Sick Kiddos

My domestic aspirations have gone by the wayside because both of my kids are super sick. This is the sickest they have ever been. It started with Morgan she had a cold with a high fever that kept going going and I took her in on Monday and she had pneumonia and a double ear infection. I felt awful, no wonder she was so miserable. All she wanted to do was lay on me, and that is not normal for her. So we went in on Monday and I had them check Reagan too, Reagan was clear they said, but bring her back if she gets worse. So we went home and started antibiotics and Morgan was better within 24 hours. Not back to normal but definitely better, and Reagan got worse. So on Wednesday we went back, and Reagan had the same thing! Reagan has always been so healthy, I was surprised. Now Reagan has been on antibiotics for 24 hours and she is starting to come out of it. Hopefully soon, everyone will sleep through the night again so I can get some sleep.
This whole thing also made me think, those of you out there who have more than 2 kids, how do you do it when everyone is sick at the same time. I had 2 kids on my lap almost constantly for about 3 days, and I was wondering if I had a 3rd, where would I put them. I am sure that I would figure it out, we always do, but still.

Domestic Goddess

One of the things that I am going to focus on the new year are embracing my domesticity. I love to cook and bake and I am going to share more of that in my blog. I am a (mostly) self taught cook, and I would love to inspire someone else to cook also. I love to try new recipes and search out new things to create. I also think it is important to sit down as a family at night to a dinner, and I strive to accomplish most nights. It proves difficult sometimes with 2 little ones, but none the less, it is good to have a goal
I also am embracing my love of party planning, starting with Reagan's 4th Birthday, which will be a princess party. We are also doing some home improvements this year, so I will keep you all in the loop as far as those are concerned. We are going to landscape the backyard starting next month, and after it is completed we will have a party to show it all off.
I hope that you all have a fantastic upcoming year full of hope and love!
