Nap Time
My goal, as mother of 2 little ones, is to get both of them to take a nap at the same time! Some days this is easily accomplished, other days not so much. We transitioned Reagan into a "big girl" bed right after her 2nd b-day since we were about to have another baby. She did very well until about 1 month ago. Which to me seems odd since she has been sleeping in this bed for almost 6 months now. Everyday we have a power struggle to see who will win the battle. We are about 50/50 right now. There are days that I feel like I am banging my head against a wall! I go in and threaten her, I take things away, I yell and scream, and still there are some days that she still doesn't take a nap. And when she doesn't take a nap, she is not fun to be around. I am hoping that sometime soon this gets a little better! Any advice is more than welcome

Establish some sort of treat(activity or even candy that she loves) that you do after nap time. Tell her that if she does not na, she does not get to enjoy this treat and STICK TO YOUR GUNS. We have been with holding our evening swim time from the boys when they don't. Lately they do not want to eat dinner and I get so sick of saying EAT!! So, now I tell them 3 times and I leave the table when I am done. If they don't finish the food, they do not get their much loved ice cream. They are willing to eat for swimming but not willing to eat for ice cream, so its swimming that gets taken away for now!
Well, I remember that after about 6 months of really being good in her big girl bed, Tanith kind of did the same thing. For a couple months, it was a huge power struggle to get her to stay in bed. I think it's when it dawns on them that they have the power to get out of their bed any time they want, and they're testing their new found power. Even now, once in a while we get the "I'm thirsty- I want my bear- I'm not sleepy" stuff. I'm sure it will pass in a few weeks (hopefully), when the novelty of it wears off.
